The IsoPlug˛ is Isol-8's entry-level mains noise eliminator.
The majority of appliances that draw power in the home environment, for example computers, fridge freezers, TVs, etc, corrupt the mains electricity supply. For the Hi-Fi afficianado the result is a heavily distorted waveform and this is not good for audio or AV equipment.
The irony is that many audio products (and often the best ones) produce a lot of noise themselves. Without doubt, the best way to attenuate that noise is as close as possible to its source. To solve this problem Isol-8 have created the IsoPlug˛.
Simply plug the IsoPlug˛ into a 'live' 13A socket next to, or in close proximity to any domestic appliance that produces, or is suspected of producing noise and listen to the result. The socket switch must be switched on! To reduce mains noise still further, a series of IsoPlug˛s may be used; starting at the socket next to your system, and then positioned near noisy appliances like fridge freezers, computers, etc. There is no harm in experimentation!
