BBC iPlayer now on freesat

BBC iPlayer is now available on all Sony BRAVIA V5810, W5810 and Z5800 freesat TVs. You can catch up on the last 7 days of BBC TV and Radio without having to switch on your PC.

To get BBC iPlayer on your TV you must have both the satellite and broadband connected to your BRAVIA freesat TV, go to any BBC channel on freesat, press the Red button on the remote control, type in page number 5483 and press Enter.

VAT Has Increased But Our Prices Aren't Changing

From January 1st 2010 VAT has increased to 17.5% but we have kept our prices the same. We are holding down as many prices as we can, for as long as we can. We have absorbed the VAT increase and kept the prices the same.

Unfortunately this excludes Sony products as our pricing for this manufacturer is always kept as low as possible.

Linn Announces End-of-Life of its CD Players

Two years ago, when Linn introduced the Klimax DS, they did so having proven that it comprehensively outperformed Linn’s former flagship digital source – the iconic Sondek CD12 – both in terms of its audio performance and the convenience of accessing your full music collection at the touch of a button. There is simply no better digital audio source on the market.

Today, Linn have a comprehensive range of Linn DS players covering a variety of performance, price and application requirements. Each Linn DS player offers better price vs. performance and greater customer benefit than the corresponding CD player. Sales of Linn's CD players have declined dramatically, whilst sales of Linn DS players continue to grow. Linn DS players have also won universal critical acclaim. The unstoppable rise of music downloading, the rise in quality of those downloads, and the demand in the market for modern solutions to music in the home presents a unique opportunity to those of us prepared to lead our customers into the future.

The time is now right for us to end production of our CD players: the future of music is Linn DS. And so, after 20 years designing and manufacturing world-class CD players, Linn is announcing the end-of- life of all remaining CD players in their line-up.

The following products will be discontinued at the end of this year:
• Akurate CD
• Majik CD
• Classik Music
• Classik Movie

Whilst Linn's official end-date for production is 31st December 2009, please note there is very limited stock remaining of all products, so orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Gilad Tiefenbrun, managing director of Linn Products, said: "Our customers have fast recognised the limitations of CD players and in the age of home networking, people now want better control of their music and the ability to enjoy it in any room of their home."
