Great performances took place with artists like Phil Woods, Slide Hampton, Johnny Griffin, Chet Baker, Dizzy Gillespie and Carmen McRae.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\nOn August 9, 1975 the concert by ‘divine’ Sarah Vaughan concluded the third edition of the Festival and was directly broadcasted by radio and TV. Sarah and her trio (with Jimmy Cobb who still played on Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue on drums) were the highlight of the four-day event.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\nNewspaper comments were cheering. “Despite the tropical heat in the Singer concert hall Sarah Vaughan did not skimp her performance. She regaled her audience with her peerless jazz interpretations and ballads, and it would be difficult to determine what Sarah Vaughan cannot do. Her voice still has the flexibility, range and warmth of twenty years ago and her great stage personality was evident not only by her singing but also by the often witty changes in the texts and announcements in which she joked about the steamy heat and her heavily perspiring face.
