The Guru QM60 was originally designed as a laboratory instrument for a project researching the properties of human hearing. Reproducing the acoustic signals used for this project required a neutral wide-band speaker with accurate reproduction of timbre, taking into account and compensating for the inherent colourations in the stereo system itself, generated in the process of phantom projection. It also required a very low distortion as well as a capability to reproduce wave shapes with a very high accuracy. Although this speaker may seem over qualified for hifi-use, the very same properties that enables them to reproduce artificial test signals in the four domains timbre, dynamic, time and space, are to a high degree beneficial when reproducing signals as complex as music. The difficulties in reproducing music should never be underestimated. The nuances are not no be ignored no matter how small and delicate they are.

Sonus Faber's Venere 2.5 is a 2.5 way floor-standing vented box speaker characterised by its Lyre shape, a homage to its 'mother' Aida and at the same time a key element in functionality and aesthetically of high quality. The Lyre shaped cabinet ensures structural strength and control of spurious resonance, creating a listening experience that is clear, detailed and extremely dynamic; the front reflex conduct furthermore makes it easy to place in the listening environment by avoiding unwanted reflection with the rear wall.

The ElectroMotion ESL (EM-ESL) represents a brave new direction for electrostatic loudspeaker design. Featuring a full-sized 34-inch tall curvilinear XStat™ electrostatic transducer the new ESL performs more like a mini-flagship than an entry level audiophile speaker. Long time MartinLogan enthusiasts are sure to describe ElectroMotion ESL as the second-coming of the legendary Aerius electrostatic speaker which debuted in 1992 and went on to sell in record numbers. The new ESL, however, boasts 40 percent more radiating surface, a superbly integrated and authoritative bass performance, and a sensitivity rated at 91dB. In addition, the ESL is capable of being effortlessly powered by both receivers and high-end amplifiers alike.

Multiple layers of curved, stressed, and laminated MDF provide non-resonant behavior unmatched in conventional flat panel construction. Seven full cross section braces remove any remaining subtle coloration. The resulting labyrinthine structure is virtually inert.
