A subwoofer or a sub is a loudspeaker dedicated to reproducing low-frequency audio or bass. The typical frequency range for a subwoofer is about 20 to 200 Hz and below 80 Hz in THX-approved systems. Subwoofers are often used to augment the low frequency range of loudspeakers covering higher frequency bands only, such as satellite loudspeakers. With satellite loudspeakers becomming more popular and their physical size ever decreasing subwoofers play an important role in giving home cinema systems their full range sound. Passive subwoofers have a subwoofer driver and enclosure and they are powered by an external amplifier. Active subwoofers are more common and include a built-in amplifier.

SpeakerCraft BassX Dual 8 Subwoofer
Home Theater demands earth-shattering bass response. SpeakerCraft BassX series of floor standing subwoofers incorporate long throw woofers, which deliver the deepest possible bass response, extending down to the 20Hz range.
These high power subwoofers boast 125 watt, 150 watt and 250 watt robust amplifiers. Each subwoofer is designed for huge bass response, easy system setup and flexibility. They feature line level inputs to connect to most any receiver or preamp, a continuously variable low pass crossover so you can adjust the subwoofer to match the bass response of your main speakers, adjustable phase switch and a proprietary SpeakerCraft bass boost circuit. Each model is equipped with a fixed high-pass crossover circuit to cut off the bass to the front (main) speakers so the upper bass will not overlap, thereby avoiding booming.

Audica MicroSeries MicroSub Bass Loudspeaker
The Audica MICROseries offers a unique approach to elegant, discreet audio for corporate audio visual and background music installations such as restaurants, retail outlets, hotel public areas, boardrooms, meeting facilities, museums, visitor centres and hotel bedrooms.
Traditional design of loudspeakers for these applications has either been large boxes that give full-range audio, but which are inherently less attractive and more visible, or sub-sat systems that use tiny satellite loudspeakers for mid/high frequencies and a subwoofer for mid/bass. The main problem with sub-sat systems in public spaces is that people are often listening close to thin sounding satellites with the mid/bass rumbling away in the distance, disconnected in bringing the critical mid-band together for audio quality.

Gallo Acoustics TR-3D Subwoofer 300W (Black)
New in the Gallo lineup is the sublime TR-3D Subwoofer. Its appearance follows the familiar lines of its direct predeccessor the TR-3 (and the TR-1D) but this subwoofer houses a completely new and improved set of internals.
At the heart of the TR-3D is a long-throw ceramic anodised aluminium cone driver, driven by a powerful 300 Watt Class-D digital amplifier. To make sure it performs to its potential in every room, bass equalisation options allow the user to adapt performance to room size. A small room probably won't require any boost, a large one might benefit from full boost.

Clark Synthesis Platinum TST429
The Platinum TST429 is the most powerful in the range. The Platinum's doubling of output over the Gold is accomplished by increasing the quantity of the Neodymium material and specialised components. Because of its output the device will work in floors, risers, and many types of seating.
"I can think of very few products that add this much to a system for so little cost... I was sceptical at first; however, once I got used to the Clark Platinum TST, I couldn't imagine my system without it."
Clark Synthesis Gold TST329
The Gold TST329 is the first of the units to utilise Neodymium rare earth magnets, thus the price and performance increase. This offers more fidelity and efficiency (twice the output) over the Silver model. It can be used in seating and in floors and risers.
"I can think of very few products that add this much to a system for so little cost... I was sceptical at first; however, once I got used to the Clark Platinum TST, I couldn't imagine my system without it."
Clark Synthesis TST239 Silver
The Silver TST239 is the start of the powerful line up, and it features a highly accurate patented design and has the ability to activate seating such as traditional theater seats or most standard chairs or recliners.
"I can think of very few products that add this much to a system for so little cost... I was sceptical at first; however, once I got used to the Clark Platinum TST, I couldn't imagine my system without it."
