Apart from a couple of exceptions, every product that the Chord Company produces is designed, assembled and tested at the company's facility, in the heart of Wiltshire. The Company was started in 1986 to produce and sell the Chord Chrysalis interconnect range. Never was a product so aptly named. From this, The Chord Companys outstanding range of interconnect cables has emerged and grown. The product line-up has evolved naturally but always with reference to existing Chord cables. This makes the Chord interconnect and speaker cable range remarkably consistent. The essential balance of performance characteristics is maintained throughout the range. The concept that speaker cables and interconnects can change and improve the performance of a hi-fi or home cinema system can be difficult to understand. Our answer to this is to ignore the words, ignore the hype and simply listen to the product. We carry demonstration stock and invite customers to try the cables for themselves.

Chord C-Stream Digital Streaming Cable

The C-stream is a very high quality Cat 7 specification cable; the contacts are gold-plated and the plug body is over-moulded, which provides excellent reliability and secure strain relief without deforming the cable and affecting performance Do Ethernet cables have an effect on sound quality?
Yes. Particularly when connected to a streamer. We did a lot of listening with various streaming devices, and every time changing the connection to the streamer made a big difference. We also experimented with the connection between router and hard drive, and yes this bought improvements, but the most important connection is the one to the streamer. This difference was noticeable regardless of whether we were running the cable directly to a router or via a pre-installed Ethernet cable network or a system where the Ethernet signal is carried over the mains.

Chord Epic Reference Loudspeaker Cable

That’s got more than a hint of Sarum characteristic to it. It seems to disappear, you can use this with almost any system and it doesn’t get in the way of some serious high end equipment. We’re impressed.
Chord Epic Reference speaker cable develops the shielded conductor design used on Epic by applying a separate high frequency effective shield to each conductor. The 12 AWG silver-plated conductors are insulated with PTFE, before a PVC jacket is applied to correctly space the dual layer foil and braid shield.

Chord have resisted referring to the Super Twin as a bi-wire cable because while it certainly produces outstanding results when connected in bi-wire configuration, the conductors can also be paralleled together to produce an outstanding speaker cable for speakers with only one set of inputs.

The Signature Tuned ARAY replaces the Signature Plus and is a completely new cables design, with all the wonderful timing and coherence that Tuned ARAY technology brings. There is that balance between all the things that a high fidelity system should do and the sense of being there and watching a performance take place in your living room. As you progress through the Chord interconnect range, the Signature Tuned ARAY is the first interconnect to be built using Tuned ARAY principles. Originally developed for our Sarum cable range the Tuned ARAY technology works every bit as well on the Signature version. There is the same lift in detail, dynamics jump out, and drums surprise with the power. What really works though is the coherence of the music you play, the sense of involvement and being there. The realisation that hours have gone by and you only meant to sit down and listen to a couple of songs.

Optichord is our first Optical lead, and features a high quality fibre optic cable, fitted with a black metal bodied plug and gold plated tip. The end of the cable has been domed and polished, which results in a wider bandwidth transmission.
