They are used with several of our power supplies and care should be taken to ensure that the correct cable is used in each application - the configuration of the cables varies with the particular units that are being linked. The Headline is an amplifier designed to offer optimum performance from a variety of high impedance headphones.
Due to overwhelming demand, the Headline can now be ordered with a pair of RCA plugs in place of the 5 pin DIN. This is especially welcome to Nait 5i owners and owners of non-Naim preamps. Same price applies for both DIN and RCA types.
Fitted with a captive lead, the Headline takes its signal from the tape socket of any of our pre-amplifiers. It has its own volume control and is designed to be very, very quiet. It has the ability to drive most headphones to an adequate level (loud!) with low distortion.

Naim SuperCap DR Power Supply

Although certain Naim amplifiers provide a very adequate power supply to the partnering pre-amplifier, the use of a separate Naim ultra-low noise power supply brings substantially improved musicality to the whole system. Simply being separate from the amplifiers ensures correct earthing and hum-free operation, while the large toroidal transformer and generous high quality smoothing capacitors provide exceptional dynamic stability.

Naim XPS DR Power Supply
|
|
The importance of power supplies has been close to the heart of Naim philosophy for over twenty years.
Naim research proved that divorcing the main power supply from a CD player is wholly beneficial, whereas the more common arrangement of housing the converter circuitry in a separate box causes many problems.
The Naim XPS power supply is a very sophisticated power supply with six separately regulated, very low noise outputs, featuring a toroidal transformer and six power regulators. These supplies are branched and re-regulated, some twice in the CD player.
