SpeakerCraft AIM Cinema Dipole Five
In-Wall Dipole / Bipole / QFX Mode Surround Speaker. Kevlar / Aluminium Drivers

In movie theatres to ensure even sound coverage from every seating position, a multi-speaker array is used with multiple surround speakers being installed along both the side and rear walls. SpeakerCraft’s AIM Cinema Dipole series has been designed to recreate this wide soundstage without the necessity of installing a large number of surround speakers.

At the heart of each AIM Cinema dipole speaker is a multi-driver array mounted within a single pivoting and aim able baffle. This combination provides a very wide dispersion of sound, with the aim able baffle allowing far greater tolerance of its installed position.

The AIM Cinema Dipole Five utilizes and impressive driver array with two 5.25” off-set angled Kevlar bass drivers and two 1” off-set angled aluminium tweeters. The complete driver assembly is mounted within a pivoting baffle.

As the flagship model the AIM Cinema Dipole Five offers an extensive array of in-room tailoring options. Tonal control is provided by both bass and treble switchable filters. A Bipole / Dipole / QFX switch allows the dispersion characteristics of each speaker to be uniquely tailored to suit both listener and the environment. In Bipole mode the speaker will provide a more focussed soundstage, while in Dipole mode a wider more diffuse soundstage is created. The unique QFX setting provides a hybrid of Bipole / Dipole operation with the tweeters operating in Dipole mode while the bass drivers operate in the more tightly focussed Bipole mode.

Finally a Beam Steering Adjustment allows the main output to be adjusted or “steered” around the room allowing greater tolerance of listener and speaker location.
