Sugden Mystro Compact Disc Player

The Sugden Mystro Compact Disc Player is an aesthetic match for its complementary amplifier and includes the same CD mechanism and servo system as the CD21.
In fact, it is the CD21 which has been subjected to careful macro value engineering including the removal of the digital out facility. Particular care has been taken to retain the musical qualities of the CD player and ensure that the complete musical spectrum is reproduced with natural dynamics, a sweet and clean extended top and a neutrality that allows the subsequent amplifiers to produce music which naturally soars in time and space.

The Sugden Mystro series amplifier is the introductory model to a world of ‘simply more music’.
An integrated amplifier including a phono stage and three line level inputs, with a nominal 50 watts per channel AB output stage, it comprises many innovative audio circuits which are a distillation of Sugden's current development programme. This is a wondrously musical amplifier with a very special pre-amp stage. The low level listening performance is exceptional and can be compared to amplifiers of much greater expense. Fast and dynamic with tremendous tone burst potential and broad speaker tolerance, the amplifiers performance will amaze and enthral listeners with its musical integrity.

Sugden LS21 Loudspeaker

We are delighted to announce the arrival of a new and exciting product: the Sugden LS21 loudspeaker. Like all Sugden products it is handcrafted at our factory in West Yorkshire by a team of highly skilled and dedicated enthusiasts.
The LS21 is a tuned quarter wave design and uses a treble and mid/base driver ported through the plinth. The cabinet is compact but not compromised, being domestically acceptable at less than 1m tall and less than 23cm wide. The cabinets are manufactured in-house by our highly skilled cabinet maker. This includes all aspects of construction from machining to veneering. Our recently installed joinery workshop runs harmoniously alongside our existing custom engineering shop.

Sugden CD21 Series 2 Compact Disc Player
|
|
The Sugden CD21 compact disc player has been specially developed to allow the listener to take advantage of the musical prowess of the A21a pure Class A integrated amplifier. It is designed with music in mind not ‘bells and whistles’.
Corner stoned by a Sugden-modified Philips CD head and dac 7 servo the output feeds a Sugden D.A. converter and analogue output board. The circuits are powered by no less than six regulated dc power supplies to minimise HF spuriae and protect the sanctity of the musical performance. The converter used is a hybrid, bit stream/multi bit unit which gives respective benefits in the low and mid frequencies. The analogue converter is via a discrete component DC-coupled Class A output stage. This combination results in a CD player with the ability to develop the complete music spectrum, with natural dynamics and a clean sweet extended top end.

CD21SE Analogue sounding Compact Disc Player
The CD21SE Compact Disc Player uses a dedicated CD loader/laser mechanism that is specifically designed to replay red book specification audio and CDR discs. Digital conversion is by DAC 7 hybrid IC with four times oversampling. All digital filtering, noise shaping and digital-to-analogue stages are Sugden designed and manufactured circuit boards. The analogue output stage is a low impedence cascode current circuit with zero feedback. A substantial audio gain mains transformer provides power for seven regulated power supplies.

Sugden Masterclass PDT-4 CD Player
|

Rescuing music from the technology of compact disc is an art form and the Masterclass CD player is the consummate artist. The Sugden PDT-4 is the ultimate seamless fusion of digital and analogue technology creating ‘simply more music’. From the retrieval of the Bits from the disc through the decoding, filtering, shaping, DA conversion and analogue output, ultimate care is taken to reconstruct the original performance. There are no spuriae infesting the power supplies and a special suction loop filter is employed to remove hf noise from the analogue signal prior to the analogue output stage.

The CD21 is a compact disc player developed for the optimum in music reproduction. It has a Philips front loading mechanism, modified in-house by Sugden, which is coupled to an 18 bit hybrid DAC and sophisticated zero feedback Class A output stage. The CD21 offers outstanding performance.

Sugdens CDMaster Compact Disc Player is a high performance unit, benefiting from over three decades of digital audio experience. The player is an integrated front loading unit with dual case construction combined into a single unit. The lower tier houses the isolated transport mechanism and digital/analogue output stages. The upper tier provides accommodation for the microprocessor, digital display, function controls power supplies, mains inlet and mains filter.
