Presenting the new Sasha V
Numerous detail improvements compared to the Sasha DAW lift the new Sasha V by Wilson Audio to a new level.
The Sasha is the heir to Wilson Audio's legendary WATT/Puppy system and thus holds a special position in the program of the American company. It is also the entry into their line of speakers with multi-piece cabinets, which allows the exact adjustment to the listening position and is said to be designed more flexible than ever here. The Sasha follows the larger Wilson models and is raised from the current "DAW" to the higher "V" level. For this purpose, the walls of the woofer housing made of special X-material increase by about 25 % in thickness, which is said to give the speakers even more stability. All internal bracing has been reinforced and is now also made of X-material.
The V-material, previously only used in the larger Alexia V, Alexx V or Chronosonic models, is used here at important points and on top of that in the solid spikes, which are called "Acoustic Diodes". The Sasha V also inherits the "QuadraMag" midrange driver and powerful AlNiCo magnet from its bigger siblings, which aims to ensure an extremely nuanced and lifelike representation of voices and instruments.
For the tweeter of the Sasha V, the manufacturer produces a "Convergent Synergy Carbon" (CSC) chamber made of carbon fiber material using an in-house 3D printer. The developers attribute an extended transmission range for the tweeter plus increased detail richness to this.
Wilson Audio even winds the capacitors of the crossover itself, which is potted as usual against resonances. The speaker also gets cable lugs and connectors from the company's own production. The two-piece cabinet, meanwhile, has been given a slight aesthetic makeover.
