Ultra-Wide Dispersion In-Ceiling Speaker. IMG and Silk Dome DriversThe new AIM WIDE speaker was originally designed to create a diffuse rear sound field within a home theatre. However, applications in the field proved that its virtues were equally suited to high quality multi-room installations.
Although it occupies the same footprint and utilising the same bass drivers as the AIM 8, the AIM WIDE is a huge departure from the standard AIM model.
A unique dual mid-tweeter module utilising two 2-inch dome midrange drivers and two 1-inch dome tweeters facing 70 degrees off-axis from each other is mounted directly above the bass unit. The result is ultra-wide dispersion combined with tremendous fidelity.
As the flagship model the AIM WIDE Five uses the finest drive unit materials. The 8” bass driver and dual 2” midrange drivers employ Kevlar while the dual 0.75” high frequency drivers are made of aluminium.
The AIM WIDE Three is a potent performer using aluminium for its 8” bass, dual 2” midrange and dual 0.75” high frequency drivers.
Both AIM WIDE Five and Three models incorporate in-room tailoring controls. A +/- 3db HF adjustment provides tonal compensation while a wide/ambient switch allows the width of soundstage to be matched to the particular application.
Although the AIM WIDE One is the entry level model, it offers an exceptionally wide and even sound dispersion. An 8” IMG bass driver is combined with dual 2” IMG midrange drivers and dual 0.75” polypropylene high frequency drivers. An ambient/wide switch provides in-room tailoring of the speaker’s soundstage.
In a 5.1/7.1 channel home theatre system or a high performance stereo set up, the AIM WIDE series will provide sound quality of the highest order.
